There are several hotels on Cabrillo Blvd.within walking distance of the regatta site. Early reservations are usually necessary. More affordable options are also available in Santa Barbara or Goleta within a 15 minute drive. SBYC recommends that hotel reservations be made as far in advance as possible. Visit: http://www.santabarbaraca.com/hotels-and-hideaways/ for a list of area hotels.
29er / I-14 / 505 Competitors –
Parking is restricted to certain areas. Below is a map that shows where you can park your trailers, boats, and cars. Please keep the roadways clear as other launch ramp visitors and the harbor patrol may be coming through at several points. Additionally, please only launch using the middle and east most ramp. Support boats may dock on the UCSB sailing docks located near the launch ramps overnight free of charge. There is limited dock space and it is first come first serve.
Viper Competitors –
Due to short supply of parking in the SBYC club lot, competitor vehicles will only be allowed in the SBYC lot for short periods of time to unhitch and hitch boat trailers. However, There is a public parking lot on the north side of the harbor as shown in ‘Attachment B – SB Harbor Map’ (available on the event website – http://sbycracing.org/2016-skiff-festival/). All day parking costs $12 per vehicle. For those who are willing to walk, there is limited free parking in the Pershing Park parking lot (on the west side of Castillo Street, just north of the Pershing Park baseball diamonds).
Below is a map of local services in Santa Barbara. Additionally, there are numerous day trips, activities, wine tasting, and shopping locally that can be found simply by visiting http://www.santabarbaraca.com/things-to-do/.
